Before Coming to Dog Training Classes
Your dog will be more focused if he has a chance to get out some energy. Stop at a park and throw a Frisbee or ball for 15-20 minutes, go for a run or drop them off for daycare the day of training.
Training Gear
Wear comfortable clothing so you can move easily and be able to work with your dog on the floor. Chairs will be provided if it is hard for you to work from the floor.
With our floor surface rubber-soled shoes work best.
Please use a 6-foot leather or nylon leash. Width of lead should correspond to size of dog and comfort in your hand. Some collars are acceptable for training if yours is not training collars can be purchased at the facility.
Training Treats
Please bring your own training treats for your training sessions. Bring small treats or treats easily broken into small pieces. Do not bring people food!!
Attendance
Please be considerate of your fellow classmates and arrive on time for your classes.
Each class leads into the next and it is important to attend all of your classes. We only have 6 hour-long lessons to teach these lessons. If you miss a class keep working with your dog teaching the skills you have learned until the next class.
If you are experiencing personal situations, illness or injury which will force you to miss a class please call us as you may be able to re-take your class with another group. Only one make-up class is allowed.
Puppy Head Start
and Doggie Good Manners Basic are just the beginning.
The basic class is the foundation to providing your dog with basic life skills. It's similar to elementary school. Real life is full of endless distractions. A large variety of diverse, new and interesting things greet your dogs every time they go outdoors. Most dogs need continued education up to a high school level. Continuing your dog’s education in an intermediate class will help to build and refine basic skills with increased distractions and duration. Our goal at Club Dogz, Inc. is for your well-trained dog to be welcomed everywhere.
